Catch a peek into my 2018 reading list. Find out what I loved and what I hated – and see if you agree with my opinions!
With only a few weeks left in the year, I thought now would be a good time to reflect on my year of reading.
I knew blogging would eat up a chunk of my free time this year, so I set a conservative (for me) goal of reading 52 books in 2018.
Apparently, my goal was extremely realistic because I was spot on to hit it. That is until this fall hit. Something magical occurred this fall; my reading was suddenly on fire. I read 10 books in October and then 19 books in November. It’s only halfway through December, and I’ve already read 7 books. Let’s just say that I blew my original goal out of the water.
What was on my 2018 reading list? Looking at my year in review, I am a fairly eclectic reader. Thus far, I’ve read 25 books each in Adult fiction and nonfiction, with 17 young adult fiction books and 7 children’s books. Plus, in preparation for writing about the most popular books of the year, I read 19 books published in 2018.
Since I never share star ratings on the blog (and rarely mention books I don’t like), here is a fun glimpse into my opinions on my 2018 reading list, with a 3-word description of each book just for fun.
Expect to see these books on future book lists. I found quite a few for my next edition of read this not that.
Next up, I’m gearing up for our 2019 Reading Challenge. Join us as we read a book a week throughout the year. If you need any ideas to finish any of the categories, don’t worry, we’ll be sharing plenty of book ideas each week to fit our fun challenge.
