How many books does a book blogger read in a year? Find out with my complete 2020 reading list of every book I read this year.
How many books does a book blogger read in a year?
I used to describe myself as a voracious reader, for I read much more than anyone else I knew. Generally, my reading has seesawed between 50-90 books a year.
Then I became a full-time book blogger, and my reading hit a whole new level.
I can’t tell you how many books other book bloggers read, but my 2020 Reading List contains 186 books! That’s not including the 25 books I started but didn’t finish. That’s a 10 book increase from last year.
Curious what I read? Today I’ve got my complete 2020 Reading List just for you. I love going over my reading because it lets me see all my year’s reading in one place.
I read so many books, it can be hard to keep them all straight. When I compile my entire year together, I can see which genres I favored (nonfiction and mystery) and which ones I skipped (young adult and classics).
Sorry, but writing up descriptions on well over 100 books is not going to happen. Instead, enjoy my star rating of each book in my 2020 reading list, along with a short description.

I love these! You can sum it up perfectly in three words! Thank you for doing this every year.

Thanks for this list! I’m daunted by reading the 52 book challenge this year (my first!), so I can’t imagine reading nearly 200. Look forward to more recommendations this year.

Want to know the trick? Get a job as a professional book reviewer, and I can promise your book count will skyrocket. 😉

Nice! I read 191, which I think is a little above average for book bloggers. Looks like you had a great reading year!

What a great list!! On the books you didn’t finish, were they really that bad? I only ask because I have a couple of those on my TBR list so now I question if I even should start them? Your lists are great and I use them as a go to as I am a new Library Director and they are very helpful!

Your wish is my command! I’ve updated it to reflect why I stopped reading the book. Some of the books were quite good, some were quite terrible. FYI, although audiobooks consist of a small part of my reading, they make up half of my DNFs.
Gail says
It would have been interesting to know why each book on your dnf list is there!
Rachael says
Thanks for the feedback! I decided to add the reason why I stopped since some of my DNFs were really good books I just didn’t happen to finish and some were really terrible books (or just not my style) that I regretted starting.

I LOVED your sentence on Glennon Doyle’s book! It was perfect. I’m loving your book lists especially that you added books you didn’t finish and why.

Haha. While I liked some of the points in Untamed, especially the cheetah story, I was amazed at how much this book points out that her last memoir was all based on a lie. And how sad it was that she forced herself to live a lie to sell books. Though we all do that sometimes – live a lie to create a facade of success, happiness, or whatever image we are trying to convey.
