Tired of wasting time on overrated bestsellers? Fall in love with reading again. Let my book blog help you find more great books to read.
I get it. You’re busy. You have a job, a life, a family, and neverending responsibilities. You used to love to read, but since then life has gotten in the way.
With four young children, I know how hard it is to find time to read.
Which is why it’s so frustrating whenever you finally pick up a book to invest hours in a story that makes you want to chuck it across the room when you finish!
That’s where I come in. I read close to 200 books a year across all genres. Let me read all the books so you don’t have to.
I’ll tell it to you plain and simple. Read this, not that.
Whether you read 12 books a year or 200, you’re in the right place. Skip straight to great book recommendations because at Booklist Queen, your next great read is just one click away.
– Not A Typical Book Blog –
To be honest, when I hear the word “book blog” I immediately think of a typical book blog. Essentially a dedicated reader who writes 500-word essays about the latest book she read. Some people are great at that, but me … not so much.
Just because that’s the way things are usually done, doesn’t mean that’s the way I have to do it. Instead, I decided to go with a different approach.
What will you find here on my not so typical book blog?

– Meet Rachael –
I grew up among the cornfields of Ohio in a town so small I attended a K-12 school. As a child, I was a voracious reader who dreamed of being a mathematician when I grew up.
Discontent with the small selection of young adult literature, at age twelve I went to the classics section of the public library and picked out the biggest book I could find, War & Peace. Thus began a long and loving relationship with classical literature that gave me a deep appreciation for well-written books.
Moving across the country, I studied Mathematics at BYU in Provo, Utah, and fell in love with a handsome young man wearing an Ohio State shirt. We now have four darling children between the ages of 5 and 11.
After my youngest was born, I became restless with the stay-at-home mom life and decided to try my hand at blogging. I learned that I wasn’t the only one frustrated by overrated bestsellers. With my discerning and eclectic taste in books and my ability to read an insanely high number of books each year, I knew that I could help others find more great books to read.
You might think all I do is read, but I also love to be active. I live nestled against the mountains in Utah. When I’m not reading or blogging, I’m spending time with my family, preferably outdoors. I love to ski, hike, bike, rock climb, paddleboard, play soccer, and visit the National Parks.
Favorite book: 1984 by George Orwell
